The Island Legacy Mission

Island Legacy Management was founded when I began to process the grief I carry for my grandmother. We lost her right before the start of COVID, just as I was beginning my own journey as a mother. She had been the matriarch of our family and loosing her left a tangible void. Being far away, and committed to the care of a baby, I couldn’t be there to say goodbye, or go through the photo albums with my sisters. I felt so useless, both to my grandmother’s legacy, but to my family who had to manage her belongings without me.

 

Founding Island Legacy Manage allows me to help families in a way I couldn’t help my own. It also allows me to carry out several goals I have for enriching the world around us:

 

Closing Recycling Loops

Our first goal is to create and support a closed recycling loop with each client family by reintroducing unwanted household goods through donations and local estate sales. We aim to foster a sustainable mindset through mindful redistribution. 

Inclusive Communities 

Secondly, we aim to provide emotional support with all the demands loss entails. By allowing our team to take over the minutia a lifetime of belongings can bring, we can help make a challenging experience significantly less difficult. Healthy minds make for healthy communities and we aim to foster safe spaces and peaceful hearts for happy homes and neighbors.
